I think you're right it reads as too paranoid, most people don't even entertain the idea that we're all doomed, and those that do usually do so for the wrong reasons and are unhealthy. And people who put hints of negativity in their dating profiles despite the norm of positivity aren't usually extra honest but just extra negative.

I want to signal that I'm aware we're in uncertain times but prepared for it (not by burying gold and guns but by having a good job and flexible skillset) and also very determined to enjoy life (since I know we don't have any control over the future), maybe there's a cleverer more subtle way to show that without hint of negativity.

I'll leave it up for a few days though. You're not seeing the full context, the rest of my profile is jokes and my photos show my with male and female friends doing fun outdoor activities, so there's some balance.
