You can see in a mild sense that even though his hollow...ish reiatsu felt wrong, he himself showed no outward signs of aggression. As you pulled your sword from what seemed like thin air all Hiroko did was raise his hands slightly before him as if to show that he was unarmed, though you could hear his slight sigh at the word "Hollow".
