Why Weinstein Isn't A Hollywood Problem, It's A Men Problem - Some News

When viewing this news, we should learn something from psychoanalysis. What we are seeing is "defense."

For years, hollywood has had sexually abusive producers. In arts we can some them in the following, among others: novels, we can see them in Roger Stone, Joan Didion, Charles Bukowski. In television, we can see them in the show Ray Donovan. Even in the news of the industry, we have seen Woody Allen and Roman Polanski.

At the moment, the president of the United States has been recorded claiming he sexually assaults women. His ex-wife has accused him of rape. Her friends backed up those accusations.

What we are being presented is not news that things are getting better. This is a narrative intended to reassure people that despite the world appearing to go to shit, "look at all the progress. Look, we're doing something."

The reality is that these things are now being reported to construct this image. Not only is there NOT progress, despicable behaviors have been tolerated for years. The real question is, "How bad have things become that now people are making news stories?"

Things have not gotten better. They have gotten worse. Look at the president. There is no progress here. This news story is not a positive thing, although the claim seems to be that the industry will be cleaned by these reports. The news is that things are getting worse, not better.

People should take this material critically. They should play it in the context of the other news stories, and ask why, now is it being reported when it has apparently been going on for years?

It is to create the misconception that things in one place are getting better despite how shitty everything else is getting. Of course, this should be reported. But why are we now seeing this? If it has been going on for years and no one has said anything, why are we seeing it now?
