Screw that, we are a modern society. The penalty for committing a crime that ruins a victim/victims families life should be as severe as possible in the hope that it makes them (and others) think twice about the act they’re about to commit.

If college frat bro’s got mandatory 20 years in prison for date raping some younger girl I guarantee the culture surrounding sexual assault in college would change overnight.
