Weird hyper-vigilance thing...?

a child forged a sword and shield in the flames of hell to wield on a perilous journey...

that sword and shield worked magic in ancient battles and the ape child through sheer force of will grew to outlast all it's enemies, it had won, but at a cost....

The child had learnt to live in war but not in peace.

The enemy had become an idea and when the blade became dull and and when the shield lost its shine, (insert military grade mental health hardware package drop) IT'S MOTHER FUCKING RAMBO TIME!!!! ra ta tat tat brrr brrr "fucking grenade!!" brrr brrr(fade in Whole Lotta Love, Led Zeppelin) "RPG!!"... You need cooling, baby I'm not fooling, I'm going to send ya, back to schooling(maybe helicopter over the horizon montage?)

You are stuck in flight or fight mode. Childhood trauma and increased levels of cortisol have gotten you used to operating at a high level of stress. When people see you go from 1 to 10 over nothing they don't realise and maybe you don't realise that your 0 is like 6 or 7 or 8 for them, you just learnt to hide it really well.

Jeepers creepers, why do act this way? When you look at yourself now and your behaviour its confusing and its irrational right? Take a good moment to consider that the reason its all clunky and odd shaped is because the way to deal with stress was made up by a child, you , as a child had to make up a way to deal with really stressful stuff....of course its a bit weird, its rudimentary but it worked, for then, a really delicate balancing act, a precise equation, now as an adult its like trying to fit more complex variables into that equation without making any allowances for them or rewriting the maths.

Your waging a war against an enemy that doesn't exist anymore, it is to time to debrief, decompress...

this bad stuff happened, it was bad, like really bad, but you can't change it now, we have to put a cap on how much time we devote to the past, to put a ring around the stress carried from then so we can identify and appropriate necessary and proportionate resources to stress we face now... i could on and on if you want to talk about things that i have found to help?

The biggest thing was devoting time to work through these things, like sitting down, pen and paper and putting order to chaos, there a lot of different tools you can use and its about finding the ones that work for you
