I've been through the same. Was abused by parents and I feel like people can sort of smell that and see you as an easy target. I've never had physical abuse from strangers but lots of verbal abuse and general humiliation. It's like they'll be nice to others but a switch flips in them when they see me. I wonder if it's my posture (I have a very obviously low self esteem posture with slumped shoulders). My looks play a role I feel like because I'm tiny and I feel like that made me an easy target, but also being unattractive which sadly invites more bullying. And then I have RBF so people think I'm giving them dirty looks and then react to that as well.
