Are you sure about this? I'm not saying you're wrong, but I thought it was the young alt-right that created a Trump-friendly political climate. I'm not arguing - I've kind of stuck my head in the sand because this is so depressing, but I've seen the lifelong Republicans in my family turn against Trump and find some common ground with my liberal father for once. Even my grandpa turned Democrat in his 80s and 90s before he passed. You can change hearts and minds, even with the older generations. Then again, most of my family is poor but educated, so maybe we're an anomaly, and this is anecdotal anyway. I'd think it would be harder to change the minds of the young alt-right since they should know better but go out of their way to entrench themselves in conservatism anyway.
