Welcome to six flags

Okay, so I've never posted or commented in this sub before and came upon this post while trying to find another Six Flags related post. However, I noticed that you had been downvoted a good amount, and as someone who knows way more about Six Flags than anyone really should, I wanted to just give you a bit of info instead of downvoting.

The first Six Flags park opened in the 1960's, and there have been Six Flags parks all over the globe (over two dozen at its peak before some were sold and a couple closed). Anyway, Six Flags still has around 18 theme park locations at different spots in the US (with one being in Canada and another in Mexico). After going through bankruptcy in the first decade of the century, the company has bounced back to be stronger than it ever has (this might sound like a marketing/shill thing to say, but it's just a fact when you look at the company's stock prices & statistics), and there are even going to be a couple Six Flags parks opening in Asia.

I'm guessing that you are either referring to Six Flags New Orleans, Six Flags Astroworld, or Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom. If you are thinking of SFNO, then yes, that location will never open again as a Six Flags park. It was underperforming and the hurricane pretty much made 90% of the rides unsalvageable. If you are thinking of SFAO, yes, that park closed is closed and demolished. Sharing a parking lot with the Houston Astros became increasingly harder, and the sale of the land from the park was meant to cut a HUGE chunk of debt away from the company. Finally, if you are thinking of SFKK, that park did close in the late 2000's, but it was reopened in 2014 by the park's original owner. Now it is simply known as Kentucky Kingdom.

Hopefully that wasn't too long and boring, but I hope I was able to answer your question!
