Well this is something to think about.

people just think it's the items taking up "memory" to affect performance when it's also 1) the terrain 2) visual effects 3) husk count (and probably husk type and element) 4) building count 5) trap count 6) types of traps. Build limit is what, 3k on SSD? (i literally cant remember lol). Just did some quick math from creative, a floor/wall/ceiling/etc is 20 memory and traps range from 8 (for cozy fire i think) to 20 memory. the floor spikes in it cost 30 to put down (including floor). So i'm gonna use ONLY retractable floor spikes for this. 30 per tile, 100k memory, that gives you 3333 pieces to put down. That's on the the grid island with nothing on it. Loading the temperate one starts you off on 4989 memory already used. So with basically 5k removed, we can now put 3166 retractable floor spikes and matching floor. Now sure, removing the few trees and rocks on the island removes that 4989 memory down to 2 butttt Epic HAS to account for this in a performance budget. They have to account for people who choose not to remove those kinds of things in their SSD's. It would be silly to think everyone removes everything. And that's nothing to say of how much memory an Amp/Homebase take up in the SSD either.

And if we go on the higher end of traps, poison wall darts cost 20 to place on top of 20 for the floor. 100k/40=2500. Sooooooooo this whole entire post from OP is mad for the sake of being mad.
