NYC

I mean, of course this is the problem, right? For comparison I live in the Philly suburbs, not married no kids, my total spend last year was 27K. I'm ridiculously frugal, but still. I know what NYC is like since I have family up there.

Can you keep your job and work remote? I know people from NY have been moving to PA. I've seen NY plates in my own neighborhood. For 200K you'd do quite well in Philly burbs. Might have a little trouble buying a house initially but that is true everywhere. Its not a wonderful place but its not bad. Its better than any NYC suburb at least to me. Its pretty heavily developed but there are a lot of parks around.

If you don't want to move, then maybe interview for other jobs. As the saying goes, you don't get your next raise from your current employer, you get it from your future employer.
