Wellness Wednesdays

I didn't have a lot to lose, but fatlogic is a great motivator.

I live in the most unhealthy province in Canada. It seems the only people I know who are fit or exercise regularly are collegiate athletes, and I am not a collegiate athlete. So I never had a problem eating a ridiculous amount of unhealthy food or laying around all day every day, because hey, everybody else did it. This sub is a reality check that yes, other people care. Yes, I should strive to be somewhat athletic even if I am not an athlete. Yes, my arguments were bullshit.

I've lost about 30lbs, I am at my goal weight, and am doing strength training. But the best part about this subreddit is how I feel. I was overweight by 2lbs, so I didn't have a whole lot to lose. But I had incredibly shitty habits and a sedentary lifestyle. Now I feel energetic, I can sleep at a decent hour, I don't find an eight hour shift so tiring, I have more confidence in athletic endeavour and myself. Now I am starting to see ab definition, my skin is clearer, my boss loves how energetic and willing to go above and beyond I am, I went out with a friend and I bought my first crop top--I am just about fit enough to wear one!--and I have gotten a lot of positive attention. Really everything in my life has been improved once I was shown how B.S. my way of thinking was--and mine wasn't even thw worst I have seen.

Fatlogic has helped me get here. It is a community full of beginners, and people who used to have my problem. Other fitness subs are good, but there are so many experts and I feel as though they don't focus on the mentality that you need to break out of when you're one of the few fit people in your life. And that is only going to become more and more prominent.
