Went 5-0 at prerelease with G/W Delirum. Here's the deck.

Honestly I think on the night there was a fairly high level of 'random' draw luck.

I did somewhere between 16 and 24 games at my 2 releases (4 sets of best of 3 per release).

The first guy I played beat the ever loving shit out of me. I felt like I had a solid deck. He finished me on turn 4 or 5 and then turn 7 to 0-2 me.

I had built a pretty on curve deck with some big bombs so I was like... if this is going to be how the release goes, I'm fucked.

Next guy basically played what felt like a r/g constructed werewolf deck, complete with planeswalker.

Filled with combat tricks, removal, creatures and the planewalker. All synergy.

Again, I got skunked 0-2.

Next two games I felt like I ran into normal decks, and I beat around turn 10-12.

I ran into the werewolf deck later in the night, and he ended up going 2-2 as well. I was super surprised, because he beat me so bad I considered rebuilding my deck mid-event.

I asked him what he ran into, and he was like nothing special. I just didn't draw out.

Made me realise how much of the win/loss is up to chance in these sealed. I mean you can build a kickass deck, but if you get out creature curved or run into a little surge/madness at the wrong time...? You're basically fucked.

The turn 4 or 5 kill involved those 4/1 vamps you could drop out for 1r+1 on madness. [[BLOODMAD VAMPIRE]] So turn 3 lightning axe into a fucking 4/1 vamp he attacked. I blocked it, he cast the flash +2+2 enchant that turns it I think first strike. He was then a 6/3, and every time he hit me from then on it got a +1/+1. By round 5 it was basically over.

I don't care how good your fucking deck is, you run into that and it's done unless you top deck or happen to have just the right removal in hand.
