I was one of the lucky few to develop blood clots from my birth control. But not just any blood clots mind you, I ended up in the ICU with massive bilateral pulmonary embolisms. The CT scan showed that 98% of the arteries to my lungs were blocked, yet my oxygen level was still somehow at a 92. I had to be medevaced to an Ivy League hospital, where three separate doctors told me to my face that they didn’t understand how I was still alive. Ended up having a study written about me that was published in a medical journal because my case was so extreme and I was just a teenager at the time. Moral of this story, any ladies of reddit reading this who take birth control, if you ever feel short of breath, just go straight to the ER. Don’t wait.
