Werewolf the Apocalypse - Earthblood Official Cinematic Trailer | Summer of Gaming 2020

They are often called splats. Vampire, Mage, Changeling, Werewolf, Hunter, etc. all exist in the same "World of Darkness", but each has its own unique themes, styles, and even power level when approaching the game. For example, Vampire is often used as a highly political game as vampire society is just kind of like that. Werewolf is more about policing the Gauntlet, the barrier between the real world and the spirit world. A Werewolf could rip a Vampire to shreds at similar experience levels, as werewolves are just flat out stronger.

Similarly, a Mage is one who is starting to ascend to a plane beyond and gaining access to magic that allows them to create insane reality manipulating effects. In a Mage the Awakening game, my character ended up dying, so my friend warped herself back in time along her timeline to an hour earlier and told me what happened, and we adjusted our plan. A Mage can probably kill anything else, Werewolf, Vampire, etc., so long as they know about the fight ahead of time. If the Mage is unaware, a Mage is a frail as a human, and a werewolf would rip them to shreds. So it makes Mage into a very insular feeling, scared to go out and about, but needing to to acquire more knowledge and power.
