Westworld - 2x09 "Vanishing Point" - Post-Episode Discussion

This is why GoT had to literally spell out a certain character's heritage in the season 7 finale, despite all but confirming it in the s6 finale (I mean sure, there was the legitimacy thing, but that's a relatively small addition). Big twists tied in little details cause trust issues, and can detract from the impact of a show.

I think it's a fault of this show as well tbh. It gives people trust issues. I trusted what I saw on screen today, and IMO I saw a madman kill his daughter thinking she's not real. He then finds out she is, and he cannot come to terms with it. So he weighs his options. "Suicide? Maybe...but what if I'm a host instead? Then I was probably programmed to do this, it's not all my fault!" (Narrator voice: he wasn't a host.)
