I agree that in a healthy marriage you should make a budget. It seems like Larissa tried to do that with her "allowance" (creepy) which he widdled down to $300 a month that he never actually gave her. Given that they discussed an allowance, I'm assuming that he treated her like a dependent child who didn't have access to any funds (even though she was earning money through the show) and had to ask him or Debbie (which is weird!) for everything. She didn't even have the equivalent of $300 worth of pocket money for the month so that she could, I don't know, buy tampons or go see a movie or do anything on her own without the permission of Colt and his mother-wife.

I think Colt's unwarranted exasperation and the show's edit gave off the impression that she wanted expensive things, but air conditioning in a car, a couch, a haircut, etc, are not huge asks from someone who is bringing in a salary herself.
