What about the good guy stories?

Chronological order:

  1. Freshman year in college was eye-opening for me. I wasn't considered quite the "catch" at my high school because I was overshadowed by my best friend. But in college there were so many cute guys, that right away I fell for a super hot guy who had a girlfriend. So I was his weekday gf and he would go home every weekend or every other. He abruptly broke up with me the night we planned to have sex for the first time. Not only did he drive home to be with his gf that weekend, but my grandfather was also very sick in the hospital and I was worried. Hence, I drank too much vodka in my friend's room where a bunch of us were partying, and started crying. Big mess. My friend Pat held my hand and talked to me through the whole thing, got me water, had me sleep in his room to keep an eye on me, woke me up with Tylenol and a Coke for my hangover.

We ended up together a month later, for the rest of the year. We're still really good friends.

  1. Guy A and I had an on/off thing with for a long time, lots of drama and silliness. We were off at this point, but had the same group of friends. We heard that Guy B - not in the group - was telling people he was going to sleep with me, we're not sure why. I never flirted with him, and Guy B had a girlfriend, too. One night we were all at the same bar and Guy B starts telling me that Guy A tells everyone how much I am in love with him and I'm pathetic, tells everyone how I am in bed and now he's looking forward to doing all of it with me. Guy A overhears this, comes over and punches Guy B in the face, knocks him out, grabs my hand, walks me out of the bar and tells me that even though we aren't together, no matter what he would love me as a friend; that he had never and would never tell anyone about what we did in private. And it turns out he never had, and he never did.

Also still good friends.

  1. Many years ago I went to NYC to meet a college friend and go on a bar crawl with her. We were meeting up with a bunch of guys she was neighbors with during her summers in the Hamptons. So we're all out and about, it's after midnight and suddenly I realize, she's not at the bar anymore. Someone confirms that she puked and grabbed a cab, leaving me alone in NYC with a dozen guys who I don't know, and I can't remember her address.

The guys decide to go to a strip club, they want to take me, I'm kind of stuck, so I say, sure, I guess so.

One guy that I thought was cute and had been talking to says, that's not my scene, let's get out of here, walk around, grab some food.

We walked around the city for four hours in the early morning, had a great dinner, and he went back to her apartment with me and waited in the lobby for the hour plus it took for her to answer the doorman ringing her so we could go up.

We gave a little speech at our wedding and thanked her for introducing us.
