What actor who usually plays the hero would be a great villain in a film?

Every discussion of Fight Club is going to have a comment that says:

"So many people fail to realize that we're not meant to agree with Tyler, he's a bad guy and a movie is meant as a refutation of what he's saying. You completely miss the point of the movie if you think accepting Tyler's philosophy is a good idea."

And that is true, but at the same time I think it's not exactly that people miss the point, it's that Tyler's preachings really do have something convincing in them that is more powerful than the supposed refutation, and they resonate with the viewers despite the intentions of creators because there's an element of truth in them.
