At what age is it right to move out of your parent's house

Legally? 18, Societally? 21, the correct age? Whenever you’re ready to.

I lived at home until I was 26. I had a well paying job out of college, and decided to stay for as long as I needed to, and my parents were happy for me to stay home. 3 years in I saved up enough money to buy a house, and ended up renting it to other people while still living at home. Then 3 years later had even more money and bought a much nicer house, that I now live in with my fiancé. I rented out the extra rooms to friends upon buying it, and once their agreement ends, they’re moving out and buying houses of their own. After the wedding I’m going to re-evaluate my finances and look to purchase a third home to rent out, hopefully when the market stabilizes a bit more.

I got a lot of shit from people for living at home for so long, but I didn’t care. Now a few years later when I have two houses and substantial passive income, I get the “man you’re smart for staying at home for so long”.
