It is subjective to say whether Enosis with Greece would be an ideal solution for Cyprus in 1968. However, from the perspective of Greek Cypriots who supported the idea, the reasons could include:

A sense of cultural and national identity: Many Greek Cypriots felt a strong connection to Greece and believed that unification would allow them to fully express their identity.

Economic benefits: unification with Greece would bring economic benefits, such as increased investment and development (Greece was quite prosperous at the time)

Political stability: Enosis would bring an end to the ethnic tensions and conflicts on the island and bring political stability, even if it would begin by force.
