What do we say to the anti-establishment folk?

You are correct. Indeed this is why I would worry if it turned out there was a God. Power does not equal kindness.

But authority and discipline, i.e order, are upheld by all who operate within their guiding light.

If benevolence is culturally the only acceptable way, if leaders fear discipline as much as subjects, then authority can become truly levelling.

A respects B because B rightfully holds title X. The problem is society is not in agreement on what values to uphold or who deserves power. Hence popularity and survivalist candidates are favoured over possible great leaders.

Human nature is alas why every leader ever has strayed from the right path. For every shepherd was once a innocent lamb.

You are correct that few shepherds are as enlightened as Darth Sidious. He is of a very exclusive club of those gifted with power who used it wisely, in the true interest of humanity.

But I believe an authoritarian kingdom of apes is superior to a democracy of apes. The virtues of authority and discipline should in themselves be worth defending.

If we are unworthy of power then possibly the gods shouldn't have given us our failings or our power.

As we have both I think we should recognise order as a high virtue.

Rebel ideology is about preventing great things. I think great things, if terrible, are necessary to advance. Rebels are essentially luddite flat earther anti vaxxers. We should confront the future not shy from it.
