It’s not like registered Democrats casted votes for candidates. This was decided by Democratic “superdelegates” which is the system that Hillary took over and corrupted as explained by Donna Brazile.

Many on the Democratic Party have suggested getting rid of these superdelegates since the majority of democratic voters were clearly more interested in the more progressive Sander’s platform, so much so that the post-election Democratic Party is clearly more progressive and leftist than Clinton herself.
