What are you guys doing for invention??

I'm going for it semi-seriously.

I have a decent cash stack that I'm more than willing to waste through to level up quickly. I've switched all my goals to PvM and Reaper tasks to build up my supply of alch-ables and wealth. I've stopped selling all drops, stocked up on divination energy, stocked up on raw materials (ore, hides, consumables), and spent loyalty points on higher-tiered Jack of Trades auras (here's hoping that they work on Invention).

More than likely everyone here will say "I'm not worried about it," or "I'll wait till the hype dies down." Those will be the same people who, two days after Invention, complain that nothing is buying on the G.E. and that the skill is too expensive because they catch interest once they see how it augments the game. Plus, a lot of content will be released that high-tiered communities will either require, or pressure you into unlocking because of the benefits.

Invention will not be a "Blow your money breaking Seismics" kind of skill. You should already have a healthy stock of equipment that you use for PvM. The armours you use now (Tier 80 or 90 power armour, any Ports armour that you've created, Raids armour you've unlocked, drops that you've received while PvM'ing) will be what you want to augment. You should also have a dragon pickaxe, hatchet and a standard fishing rod. These tools will be augment-able as well, and by training mining/woodcutting/fishing you can also unlock new perks, thus training invention.

Those alchables that you have in your bank from slayer? They should be what you break down first. Do you have leftover Rune armour/weapons? Break them down. All of those reasonably valuable Dragon armour/weapons? Break 'em. Camp at God Wars Dungeon and break down any of the Tier 70 drops you get. Camp high-tiered bosses and break down those Nex gears, Chaotic weapons, Attuned Crystal Weaponry, etc.

If you even casually train Slayer or PvM, you probably already have a head start. Don't lie and say you'll wait it out. You're going to be interested and you should be. This skill looks amazing: there are several ways to train, several unlocks that could greatly enhance gameplay, and it's going to revitalize items that most players consider garbage or alch-fodder.
