What are the health benefits, if any, of intermittent fasting?

IF stabilizes blood sugar which is important because if you listen to Jason Fung then it's insulin that is responsible mainly for weight gain. Insulin prevents fat burning and even if you eat healthy but eat around the clock all day then your body constantly has some level of insulin flowing around inside. IF shortens your eating window putting a halt to insulin flowing around so you can finally burn calories. Now you still gotta be reasonable with intake and not say, a whole birthday cake each day when you eat but you will notice weight loss right away with IF. Start off slow on fasting times, maybe fast for 10 hours and have your window for feeding to be 14. Each day tighten your window to eat a little more to eventually 18-24 hours you fast.

In addition to that I noticed my skin cleared up, I had more energy (sometimes made it hard to sleep) and greatly improved my general mood...I struggled with depression so this effect surprised me. My hunger improved and food tasted better. I like the discipline IF gives you..really I can't say enough good things about IF.
