To be honest, my favorite part about being into comics is my weekly Wednesday lunchtime visit to the comic book store. I have a whole ritual around it: I get my books from my pullbox, go check out the new #1s and thumb through them to see what I want to pick up, look at the shelf of $5 used trades, go through a randomly selected bin of $1 used comics that I’ve never heard of, and then go chat with the employees I’ve gotten to know about whatever we read that week. I don’t think it would be the same reading them digitally, although it would certainly be a lot less expensive. I was never a collector of any physical medium before I got into comics because I grew up in a hoarder house and became allergic to clutter, until I got into comics.
