What are the main races in your world?

Currently, the main sentient species of Iberya are as Follows:

Humans: Bog-standard Homo Sapiens, complete with varying ethnic groups. Humans are actually from Earth (yes, OUR Earth) and were brought into Iberya during Earth's great migration period via unstable magic portals at a moment in time when these portals were randomly opening and closing to other universes.

Despite their foreign origin, humans have adapted quite well to Iberya and are more often than not considered the race with the greatest technological and scientific prowess, given that magic was unknown to them for a great deal of time. Because of this, Humans generally regard magic as something that can be understood rationally.

Elves: Also bog standard fare, although they do not have long life spans (avg. life span is about 50-70 years) like other incarnations do. Elves are native to the temperate, heavily forested areas of the Bellshy region of Iberya and traditionally lived in tribal bands or small communities. Most Elves learn to use magic from a young age, and are largely reliant on magic for everyday life, regarding it as a supernatural manifestation of their gods.

It was not until contact with humans that they began to advance technologically, which caused a split among them to either leave their traditional lifestyle or stick with it.

Shy'iid: Cousins to the Elves species wise, Shy'iid tend to resemble stereotypical depictions of Angels, living in isolated, shining cities and are heavily reliant on magic, specifically light magic, to keep their society running, and have even used it to force biological changes in their bodies (silver irises, bleached white hair, feathered wings). Shy'iid are extremely xenophobic, regarding all other sentient as lesser and themselves as the sole rightful users of magic. All Shy'iid officially fall under the jurisdiction of their God-Emperor, who wields absolute power over the entire race.

Dragons: Standard fare once more, Dragons are, metaphorically speaking, intelligent beings trapped in the bodies of animals. Their sheer, indomitable power, centuries long lifespans and ability to breathe fire has made them predators to be reckoned with, however, Dragons have a very good relationship with humans, seeing their cunning and wit as a counter to the Dragon's brute strength and ferocity, often using humans as an intermediary with other races and are often the first to offer support in times of war.

Typically, Dragons live in semi-migratory clans consisting of multiple families that often war with each other over hunting grounds, various feuds, etc. given that diplomacy is a recent idea to them introduced by humans. Dragons also have never had a proper writing system, but have a deeply rooted oral tradition which goes back for millennia.

Drachen: These are a Dragon/Human Hybrid race with two subspecies, the more human like Haumos and the more dragon like Dracos, which has a further subdivision of individuals called Draco Rex. These were the result of Magical experimentation with Human soldiers, causing them to take on Draconic features such as wings, scales in place of body hair, ability to breathe fire, etc. In time, these soldiers either bred amongst themselves or bred with humans, resulting in Human genes causing Dragon genes to become less prominent for the latter, resulting in the Haumos; or Draconic features slowly becoming more prevalent for the former, resulting in the Dracos. Draco Rexes are a rare variant of Dracos, taking on even more Draconic features than normal.

Their culture and lifestyles reflect their mixed heritage, their beliefs regards humans and Dragons as "Mother" and "Father" races receptively, and some often task themselves with writing down the oral traditions of the dragons as a means to preserve their history. Haumos typically integrate into human societies, Dracos on the other hand tend to stake out on their own in their own communities. They are actually quite welcoming to adventurers, as they see one who has many tales to tell of their exploits as honorable in a similar sense to someone who has served in the military.
