What Are You Playing This Week? 02/15/15 to 02/22/15

Hey /u/AutoModerator, you're early. :)

Played some Scrabble Blitz (iOS/Chromecast) with my family. With all the time I've been putting into Wordament Snap Attack (iOS), they were no match. But my 9-year-old beat me and her sister at Monopoly (Sega Genesis). I'm still processing this. I don't want to talk about it.

I pulled an all-nighter trying to max out my Smithing, Alchemy, and Enchantment stats in Skyrim (PC). I had legendaried them. That was a bad idea. I keep getting killed so quickly by fire, shock, and frost attacks. I want to double up my armor attack perks with protection perks but I'll need to level up quite a few more times before I can double up enchantments.

On a whim, I downloaded Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff (iOS). It's a horrible "game", but it's so much more than that. It's also a complete waste of time and, potentially, money. Unless you want to spend a bunch of real-life money, get ready to do a lot of waiting. Some timers are just a few seconds but most are 2 hours, 4 hours and more. But once the timers are up, the fun begins: you can then tap on things and start more timers. That's the game in a nutshell: waiting on timers and then tapping on things to start new timers.

In fairness, timers are not the only thing standing between you and new timers. There's also "clams", the in-game currency. Advancing the game often requires clams and ways to get clams are few and far between. Of course you can just buy some clams at $10, $20, even $100 a pop via in-app purchases. This is the kind of game that you can just hand off to you kid, confident that your credit card bill will be at least $1000 more than usual next month. Inexplicably, I'm still "playing" this game.
