Root Letter: Just finished my first ending (Cursed Letter) and holy shit it was something. I wasn't expecting the game to go "Final Destination" on me like that all of the sudden when every character started dying, even though it actually made sense (for some unknown reason). Still, there were some dumb parts such as one of the characters ("Shorty") being pecked to death by a crow in his skull (yes, ladies and gentlemen, apparently crows are dangerous animals that can penetrate your skull if they desire to do so, even though I'm fairly sure that a human's skull is supposed to be thick.

So far it was a "fine" (meh) read to pass time, but I had many faults with the visual novel, such as:

*The writing itself: It's plain. Not necessarily bad, but it feels like the reading "lacks life" from time to time (the jokes aren't funny, for example).

  • The "minigame" sections which I felt were unnecessary and at times frustrating. For example, during the "Investigation" part where you're supposed to talk with a character to squeeze information out of them, you have to sometimes use the "Max gauge" which is a mechanic in which you need to "choose" between 4 answers through timing. The problem with this is that the game never gives you a hint of how much you're supposed to use (25,50,75, 100% or sometimes even wait and not answer again) so you're always wasting some time trying to figure out how to proceed.

  • How short the whole game is (it took me 3 hours and a half to finish Main route + Cursed Letter Ending).

  • How "plain" the characters seem to be: The main route is basically split into 8 chapters in which each chapter is "dedicated" to a character's arc. So, after the protagonist "bullies Aya's friends" into giving him information (he literally bullies everyone), we get to listen to some "sob story" which due to how short the visual novel is isn't fleshed out and actually lasts less than 3 minutes and then the character tells the protagonist to basically "fuck off" and never speak with them again...even though they later on speak with him as if the scene they had with the protagonist never happened.

Honestly, I'd give it a
