What are signs someone is secretly racist?

I’ll admit that personally I don’t believe that casting someone for a role that originally was another race is a problem unless being that race has specific impact on the story, but is it really the same? Sociologically, whiteness is described as being considered neutral, meaning that white people historically tend not to see themselves as having a skin color/tend not to be perceived as racialized. When you take a character that IS racialized and portray them as white, you’re taking away all the social and cultural values that come with that and erase them, making the character racially neutral. Again, I do not get offended if that is done in stories where race does not play a major role, but it’s hard to say that it has the same cultural weight.
