What are YOU a snob about?

I mean, whether or not it's overpricing isn't really a yes or no question, is it? It might not be to you, but if other people feel like triple prices is a bit steep a price for less automatic updates, less risk of virus and less compatibility with games, who are you to say they're wrong?

I mean, I get your gripes with Windows, I have them myself. I'm like you and only use windows for the things I can only do with Windows, but most of my needs are much more satisfied by Linux. Now, as a programmer, Linux gives me all the qualities you like about Mac. It's better suited for the work I do, it's more stable, it runs less risk of virus, and I virtually never have to deal with the OS just doing its own intrusive things without asking my permission firsthand. And I get this OS for free, even less money than Windows, and since there are plenty of laptop manufacturers that ship without OS, I completely negate the cost of OS. So, can you really tell me that I'm wrong when I think Mac is massively overpriced? The way I see it, there's nothing Mac does that other OS' haven't shown is possible to provide for a lot less money than Mac takes.

That said, I'm not saying Linux is a good option for you. It's great for programming, because it has a lot of built-in support for that. It's not very great for creative softwares like game engines, design software and such, as it lacks compatibility for a lot of the popular apps people are using on Windows and Mac. So yeah, Mac definitely is the best option for you. It's a great OS, it does what it intends to do and it does it well. But it really doesn't need to cost as much as it does.
