My East is Your West, the latest album from drummer Sarathy Korwar is a colossal genre-bending tour de force. Think: if Kamasi Washington grew up in India and played the FUCK out of the drums.

I guess you could call it a jazz record, but that's not really what it is. It's a real novel experience listening to it (sounds like it was recorded live, which adds to the insane level of virtuosity and variety on the record.

I heard this track Earth start off a dj set recently, and it just blew my mind apart for 14 minutes. Super refreshing stuff to hear, absolute power in music.
