My theory about going to Sharlayan in 6.0 was originally a crackpot theory but now it seems likely... Because of its likelihood as a future location, we’ll probably get a ton of sage lore from it. As far as other theories go, maybe this is a desperate delusion but I don’t think Ysayle is actually dead. Since we know that the lunar primals are minor threats now, I’m predicting world-related primals in the story. Specifically, I believe the game will introduce a new primal based on either Ganesha or Indra in accordance with the Matanga; Ganesha I feel is most likely because he’s portrayed as an elephant god, while Indra is also likely because Arkasodara is another name of the elephant Airavata who carries Indra. I believe at one point we, the wol, will be turned into a primal and summoned by the people of the source and we’ll have to defeat ourselves somehow. Whether we’re imbued with crystal power and have an internal battle or have to fight a corrupted reflection of ourselves is yet to be seen. A minor theory I have about Ilsabard is that there’s an entirely different society of native people who were either quashed by the empire or exist outside of it. I imagine it would be inspired by Russia. Nagxia contains a society of monks who practice an entirely different interpretation of that fighting style, more similar to what you’d expect of Buddhist-inspired monks in rpgs. And related to the scale of the game and its zones, since Stormblood I’ve taken to a belief that the areas you can traverse ingame are not actually very small, they’re just the wol’s recollections of those areas and only include the details they considered important and most relevant to their journey, or whatever really left an impression. For example, I believe the area of the Steppe we have accessible would, on an actual true-to-lore scale, include far more empty grassland between notable geological features (hello, it’s a steppe) as well as tribe locations. It ends up being represented as a smaller field-like area with nearby mountains because the wol remembers it as “yeah there was a lot of grass, then there was some mountains to the north and west.”
