I have a quick story. Back in my high school days we had this place called “ the huddle”. It was a fast food place right by my high school. So my “ friend “ at the time, and myself were at the Huddle eating breakfast before school one day. I had late arrival so we would meet for breakfast on occasion.

Long story short, there used to be these plastic puppy banks on the tables that people would donate money to for various causes.. they were yellow, looked like a bloodhound with droopy eyes ( this would have been in 1997 ).

Said friend decides at the end of our meal to steal it, and put it in the wasteband of his pants and slowly walk away.

We get back across the street near the high school only to be stopped by a truancy officer from the school. My friend decides to start taking off when the puppy dog bank falls from his pants right in front of the officer.

Everyone in the area knew this place and knew the puppy banks so the officer immediately detains my friend, and his parents are called, suspended, the whole 9 yards.

We were banned from the Huddle, my parents were called and I got read the riot act by mom, dad, sister, pastor, you name it.

I’m still embarrassed thinking about it.
