What are some of the downsides of living in Edinburgh?

That's hilarious because I came back from Shetland after being away for years and Edinburgh is doing extremely well for weather. So much so that I can't see the point in taking summer holidays anymore. It's been so nice since last summer when I was back. We didn't even have a winter.

In terms of racism, anywhere that is multicultural is going to have clashes and cultural differences resulting in ignorant racists and people who would rather their country or city remain as it was in the 'good old days'. You're simply not going to find anywhere else in the world that doesn't have that problem. Its natural. We do well comparitively

I suppose the housing problem comes when you have a city that's becoming overcrowded. Overcrowded with immigrants and people from around the UK. There's a student housing issue for sure. Way too many blocks of student flats being built now. Most of them sit half empty and rent out to tourists all year round. We need flats built and useful land used.

Personally I wouldn't live on Edinburgh again, fingers crossed. I've opted for sunny East Lothian.
