Well I don't want to incriminate myself, I was never cleared or convicted so could probably still be tried if other authorities got involved.

Essentially I imported some stuff that may be used in the commission of a crime (something that doesn't have much use other than to be made into something illegal, such as say, specialist inks that are only used in, say money)

They found the imported stuff, found some further evidence that I was already using it to make something, but weren't quite sure. There was nothing concrete, just the ingredients and some machinery that could be used for what they suspected.

I spent 4 months in Jail there before they realized 1) I wasn't making anything to do with their country and 2) trying me would have been expensive and wasn't really in their interest.

After four months in a shitty prison with god-awful food, they randomly let me go, I had about 5 mins notice I was being released, walked into town, called my girlfriend (now wife) to book me a flight home, sat in town drinking beer until I had to go to the airport and never went back to the country.

I forfeited a large quantity of expensive machinery but wasn't tried, convicted or anything, just signed a piece of paper that they could keep my stuff and I wouldn't come back in exchange for leaving the country.
