What are some interesting stories or happenings that happened during the maoist era of Nepal?

Another personal story. Not that interesting but in our home it was standard 'protocol' to make anyone to wait outside our gate. I had to ask details about why they were visiting and who they were wanting to meet. Then I ran and reported to the adults about the visitors at the gate. The gate was only to be opened by adults. Also all the 'not so trustable' guests were made to sit in a 'baithak kotha' downstairs(we lived upstairs and had a standard bathak kotha for close relatives). This was to make sure nobody knew the orientation of the rooms upstairs. We barely opened our curtains.

Another one of these 'safety measures' i had to take was when ever in school they asked "what does your father do?" i said "he is a business man" . Because maoists kidnaping kids of army personals was common and any teacher could have easily been a maoist.

Also during jana aandolan there was general lawlessness in our area. Several houses were robbed. Every house would have someone on 'night duty' on their roofs. One thing i noticed was evey day a 'jana aandolan julus' would pass by our street the same night some ones house in the neigbourhood would be robbed. Happened 3 times in 19 days of aandolan. The same 3 days some julus had come through our streets.
