What are some makeup industry choices you understand, but still object to?

Everyone hates on the maybelline graffiti nudes and rock nudes palettes. From a marketing perspective, it makes sense because everyone googles "nude palette" at one point or another. Some of these consumers later realize they don't want an all brown palette. And technically, the colors do resemble naked rocks, so it's technically not false advertising.

Same goes for the explosion of "matte". I bought my first matte lipstick because I didn't realize the finish I was looking for was called satin (I doubt I'm not the only one who has a mom that only owns super old shimmers). Everyone hated on the Loreal infallible pro matte gloss Marketing added matte to the label and knew people would still buy it. Unfortunately it worked too well and not everyone read that last word "gloss" and was surprised it didn't dry down like a ll. (Have bought this one, I actually love it). It sucks, I still prefer satin lipsticks but brands tend to keep their satins mixed with their shimmers instead of giving them their own line.

And this is a very personal dislike and I doubt anyone else will share the same opinion, but I hate rose gold. I liked it when I was watch shopping and saw it was becoming the next trend (wasn't a huge fan of the previous white watch trend), but passed because I didn't own any other rose gold. The day I saw apple release the rose gold phones I realized that I am done with this trend. I prefer yellow gold and antique gold. It's not easy to find a good shade of either, either I don't like the formula or it has the slightest hint of rose undertones which doesn't go with my olive undertones or anything else I own.
