What are some problems with the position that god exists outside of time?

"Classical theism views God as necessary to the very existence of the universe itself."

This is an unsubstantiated claim. There is no evidence presented as to why God must necessarily exist for the universe to exist.

"This means that, by the very nature of the universe itself, one cannot conceive of it without the existence of God within it."

How does the very nature of the universe itself stipulate that God must exist? once again a baseless assertion with no evidence or reason behind it. I can easily conceive of a universe without the existence of God. It is not required and this Ockham's razor does its work.

"Thus, if we can prove that the nature of God has certain attributes"

This statement is literally circular. how can you prove the nature of god without first proving such a thing as god exists in the first place?

"and we can say that God exists necessarily, it is plenty fair for us to say that there is a God with those attributes, even if they seem like strange ones."

Baseless assertions.
