He basically tried to have me labeled crazy because I complained about inequities from past management and he felt my talking about it would be interpreted as my not being happy with him. Which injured his ego and made him furious.

So he started to try to humiliate me and control me into silence by passive aggressively whispering I was crazy, mentally ill. Never saying it to me directly but obviously inferring it to others in an ugly way that was meant to be seen by and humble and humiliate me.

Of course as it was done passive aggressively that left me no choice but to leave or accept it. It couldn’t really be called out or disputed without him suggesting I’m crazy and imagining things, KWIM and that was absolutely by intention.

So basically the purposeful ambiguity is putting me in a chokehold where I either must accept the abuse we both know is going on with silent placid smiles and pretend it isn’t happening or leave a job of 10 years.

They felt I’d have to put up with it and take the punishment he was passive aggressively meting out. I did for a time and then shocked everyone by flipping the tables and leaving

It’s a tactic to force covert abuse on you
