what are some things you can do (physically) to regain confidence after a depressive slump?

What makes me feel better is doing something I don't feel like doing, like going to work happy hour or exercising or cooking. There can be a mental block when it comes to doing these things, but I kind of physically force myself to do it. Like I will first get dressed, then drive to happy hour or the gym, and since I'm already ready and at the location it's easier for me to think "well I'm already most of the way there, might as well get out and do it". It makes me feel a lot better to have accomplished an activity in addition to taking my mind off myself (which is a big bad habit for people with depression). It also makes me feel like I'm gradually expanding my comfort zone and beating back depression one action at a time. Unfortunately the feeling of accomplishment doesn't last more than the day for me, but that just means I need to keep doing more things :)
