What are some times you thought you were gonna die?

I had my first kidney stone when they found shadow in my lungs on the CT Scan. I was booked in with a pulmonologist who sent me for blood work prior to the appointment. I got to the appointment the next day and the pulmonologist says, "your blood work shows your kidneys are not working properly - we have days not weeks. I'd like to admit you right away." Turns out I have sarcoidosis - an autoimmune that attacked my lungs and kidneys.

After a crazy high dose of steroids for 30 days (and weening off for months) and a year to recover, I have been in remission 3 years. I only have to see my specialists once every five years now. I am still passing the occasional kidney stone (or not passing them because they're too big - have had two surgeries to remove them to date) as my calcium is still on the high end of normal. Hopefully that will correct soon as well.
