I also love brand new. To me Jesse seems like a guy who made some bad choices, likely due to distorted world view that fame can bring. When you have people throwing themselves at you at all times, it screws up your world perception. I’m not excusing the behaviour at all, however he is a product of the toxic environment that fame and the whole “rock star” culture can bring.

The fact that he truly seems regretful of his past actions, and not just “sorry that he got caught” speaks volumes about his character. I don’t know him personally, nor do I know anyone involved, but if you listen to his music, you can tell that he has struggled with reconciling his past long before he was outed. His wife has even commented on the person who he is now, and if he was still a creep, I sincerely doubt she would be with him, let alone stand up for him.

People make mistakes. Some of them horrible horrible mistakes. But people can also change. If he kept on doing it, or denied doing it in the first place, yeah he shouldn’t be forgiven. But he truly seems to recognize the error of his ways and has tried hard to change.

That’s enough for me, I will continue to listen to Brand New.
