What are things in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate that you would like to see buffed or nerfed slightly?

The counter of the Lance is way more finicky and risky. If you screw up, you're locked in place for about two seconds until you unleash an upwards stab that's unlikely to hit the monster if you screwed up your timing, and then spend another fraction of a second to pop back into combat stance. It's very high risk and low reward, at most you'll deal as much damage as your charge finisher, which you can execute in less time and while moving.

Compare this to the CB counter, the margin is a little thinner, but is thus also less likely to screw you over if the monster runs past you / performs a slower-than-anticipated attack. You will still execute a quick and pretty powerful strike from switching and you also aren't locked in place for as long as Lance after the attack.

The CB counter takes effect immediately and will hit whatever monster part touched your shield, allowing you to deal Impact or Elemental damage depending on your model.

The Lance counter does none of that. You will deflect the hit, and, depending on how heavy the hit was and your Guard + level, spend a variable amount of time until you can get your counter stab out.It also can not KO or deal significant elemental damage. A charging monster will have long since passed by you and you will whiff it. The only time counters are exceptionally useful are close to the monster, against swiped, Roars or Wind pressure.

So why, exactly does the Charge Blade, a mobile, all-out offensive weapon with immense burst damage, get a better and more versatile counter than the Lance, a weapon with deliberately slow, defensive-oriented moves and an actual shield designed for blocking? I don't get it.
