What Are/Were Your Objections to New Labour

At the time, I was furious that one of their first acts was to get rid of the Assisted Places scheme - which had benefited me and my siblings. I held that grudge for a long time.

The Iraq War fiasco is the one and only thing that I felt strongly enough about to go on a protest march about. That said, I believe that any British government would also have been drawn into the war under those circumstances, so...

Ignoring those two issues, in hindsight they were probably the most competent government we've seen in my memory (born in the early 80s). It felt like they tried to govern for the overall benefit of the country and for all its people. I really wish you could say the same about the current Tory party. I hope we will be able to say the same about the next government under Keir Starmer.
