What are the worst books you’ve ever read?

I think this is what happened. Ready player one isn't that bad. It's not great literature, but the world building is alright and the plot is a relatable 'rags to riches and take down the evil, faceless corporation'. Yeah it's a little ham fisted, nostalgia porny, but if you're into 80's nerd culture it's mostly enjoyable.

It's only after you look into his other work that you realize ready player one is the best of Ernest Cline and his other work is pretty awful. That kinda shines a light on all of rough parts of ready player one.

It's kinda like, if you know a guy who's a little weird, but they're tolerable. Then you learn they're a raging asshole to their spouse. It makes you think of them and all past interactions differently.
