What are your favorite things about the Legend of Korra :D?

Yea LOK is great I rly like the concepts explored in the show overall. Very mature and realistic all things considered. Like how season 4 Korra is literally the most powerful bender on the planet but her own mental ptsd is preventing her from functioning at even half the capacity of what she once was.

I also like the Toph scene were she says Korra is maybe willingly holding onto the liquid metal poison within her; so she can remain sick and continue to be incapable, because she is scared of getting hurt again. Sounds convoluted when you type it all out, but it truly do be like that irl and it’s more common than it seems

I also also like how Toph changes her mind on bending the poison out of her, and tells Korra how it’s something she just has to do herself. Just like irl PTSD, therapy and friends can help but YOU ultimately gotta process, do shadow work, and handle your baggage yourself. I also also also like how they lowkey confirmed Toph can lavabend lmao can only imagine what prime Toph was capable of. man earthbending in LOK is just fucking sick I love Kuvira on her boxing shit

lol ngl I also x4 like every single Toph scene in LOK bc she’s the best character and I truly hope she achieved enlightenment in the swamp. TBH I hope she learns how to do the earthbender immortality shit like Kyoshi did because Toph deserves to live as long as she wants

The scene where Korra contemplates suicide is pretty good too. Since the avatar losing 3 elements is like a world renown MMA fighter losing both legs and an arm, I don’t even blame her because that mustve be traumatic. like she was literally in a wheelchair for 3 years or sum

Another lesser discussed and imo underappreciated aspect of LOK is how they explore interpersonal relationships and how unclear things can get. Like romantic lovers, platonic lovers, friends who just think each other are hot etc. It’s not that cut and dry irl so I like how the lines are equally blurred in the show.

For example Bolin is initially sad but eventually gets over it and is still coo with Korra even after he saw her kissing Mako. or how Asami eventually gets over Korra kissing Mako and ends up fucking Korra herself. Even after Mako breaks up with both of them, he’s not mad they get together he actually still says ILY Korra I got ya back because theyre still friends at the end of the day

Many shows especially cartoons would create rippling rifts via love triangles and unreciprocated attraction (which is kinda realistic tbf) but in LOK there’s barely any of that, which is nice bc that shit cringe

Like yea everyone in Team Avatar probably wants to fuck everyone in Team Avatar but beyond that, they’re portrayed as human beings who just have a connection to each other. The nature of that connection, or whatever label you put on that connection isn’t the most important part. It’s the connection itself that is important and valuable
