What are your isolation observations? - 15/04/20

We are still getting lots of non corona related calls , a lot lot less RTC's , havent attended a stabbing for weeks , have not heard of any shootings , not had any calls to assaults / drugs / drunk people for a while either . BUT i am going to genuine 999 calls , there is a lot more in place now at the point of contact to direct people to the correct pathway now , rather than just sending an ambulance to anything

Hopefully as well now , people who have called thinking an ambulance crew will give them a prescription at home (ive had many calls where the person has an ongoing problem but "exaggerated" the symptoms to get an ambulance ) , have now realised that we dont give antibiotics ,we dont suture wounds , boxes of painkillers ,we cannot speed up your outpat apt , your not seen any quicker if you go to a/e and that just driving your patient with a low priority inj/illness , with there wrist injury , cut hand , nose bleed by your own car is usually quicker than waiting 3 hours for an ambulance who is only going to drive you to the a/e dept to wait to be seen anyways !
