What are your main gripes/problems with this sub?

While I like this sub, it seems like its fundamentally less about christianity and more or directly a forum for criticism of christianity. That's not definitively a bad thing but ultimately it comes off as something like

Post 1: Evangelical leader says WHAT about gay people?

Comments: bigot bigot bigot bigot fucking bigots

Post 2: snarky webcomic/joke/onion article

Comments: this funny

Post 3: Republicans are dummmmmmmm

Comments: Yeah they are right? They're not christians for saying things many traditional christians believe. fucking bigot bigot bigot bigot

Post 4: personal/relationship/mental health problem?

Comments: Get professional help, mixed other responses vaguely supporting.

Post 5: Do X really believe Y?

Comments: Well, some x think y through this unique lens but its far from settled and you can believe what you want otherwise bigot bigot bigot bigot

Post 6: /u/apophis-pegasus posts something thoughtful

Comments: 50/50 reasonable discussion and circlejerk/namecalling/people showing their wit-boners

The last two are alright. I'd like to see more discussion about issues within the church in a productive way, rather than in a way that's fundamentally critical; For example "How can we help X people?" vs "We aren't doing anything for X and we're pathetic imitations of christians because we aren't." (then the comment section derails into how evangelicals/anglicans/sedevacantists/christian hippies are the ones responsible and they should be ashamed and called bigots).

I know very very very little in terms of theology, church history and practice, and the times when people come together in a post like "I heard x belief, what about x belief and is it biblical/traditional/trinitarian etc?" Then everyone answers from their tradition's perspective (Noting that its their own perspective) and there's some respectful hole-poking in others belief (wait, does that mean you believe in quintuple reverse predestination? That was denied at the 143rd Ecumenical council of Massachusetts in 1352!). Those are the times where I learn a lot and get to think about things. I like those times.
