What are your stims, if you don’t mind sharing?

Hair twirling, picking at my cuticles (or just pushing on them where it hurts a little), hair twirling, and also hair twirling. Sometimes I rub my hair on my lips.

Unfortunately I have found out that hair twirling by white people (I’m white) is often considered rude to Black Americans. It represents bragging about hair, as I understand it? I feel really ashamed if I lose control and hair twirl at work, and multiply ashamed if I do it in a way that is culturally insensitive. I’m sorry if this too general or otherwise culturally insensitive (I’m in the US southeast so maybe it’s regional and there’s a whole lot of non verbal communication here anyway), but I thought there might be others out there who appreciated learning this, like me.
