What are your taxes & fees for your utilities - TV/Internet/Phone/Cable, Electric, Water, Gas, Sewer, etc? Please share your local billing & tax rates on standard bills

The only amount you are spending on taxes and government fees is $7.54 per month. That is the amount that goes towards various infrastructure. The other $15.25 is for service fees that the company chooses to charge you. You seem to be angry at the government when you should be angry at your provider. They are the ones overcharging you.

it really doesn't matter who is getting the $

Yes it does, because that's the whole premise of your post. That the infrastructure in this country is not what it should be, considering how much the government is collecting in taxes and fees. Only $7.54 of your monthly bill is going to the government. The remaining is going to the company to cover their costs and to make a profit. Sure, some of that profit will be reinvested into the telephone infrastructure of the country, but it definitely is nowhere close to $250 billion per year.

I agree it is frustrating that telephone companies are allowed to charge this way. You are being advertised a cost of $54.99 per month when you are really paying $77.78. Your provider is just as much to blame, if not more so, as the government. However, at the end of the day, your provider is the one who is overcharging you for their services.
